LET’S DIVE IN. 🖤
Hey friends! You know what time it is—it’s guest speaker time! This month, I’m beyond excited for our conversation because it’s with someone who has deeply impacted my life and my marriage in ways I’ll never forget. Today, I’m honored to introduce you to Kylie Hempy.
Kylie is a mom, a wife, and a brilliant perinatal therapist. You might be wondering what exactly 'perinatal' means — basically, Kylie specializes in supporting women through the incredibly transformative journey of motherhood, from pregnancy to postpartum. She holds several important titles like AMFT, PMH-C, and LMFT— simply put…fancy letters that mean she’s a certified pro when it comes to mental health and family therapy, particularly when it comes to navigating the unique challenges of motherhood and mental wellness.
Kylie’s passion for helping others comes from a deeply personal place. In November of 2017 her world stopped as she sat in a hospital waiting to go into surgery after hearing the news that no parent ever wants to hear — her 17-week-old baby’s heartbeat had stopped. It was a moment that would shape not just her grief but her entire future. In that moment of deep pain, when it seemed like no one else was stopping their normal day or even pausing to acknowledge her pain, a nurse handed her a heated blanket, looked her in the eye, and promised to take care of her. And that was it. That was the moment when Kylie knew she wanted to be that person for others in their darkest moments.
Since then, Kylie has dedicated her life to being a beacon of support for women and families navigating the tough, often lonely moments of new parenthood, loss, and everything in between. Her ability to hold space for others is truly unmatched, and I can say from personal experience that she creates environments where people not only feel safe but truly seen. When we were living in the Bay Area, Kylie opened her home to married couples that attended our church, and that season - meeting every Thursday night in a packed living room with other married couples - it absolutely transformed my marriage and my life.
All of that is to say you’re gonna LOVE Kylie. So. I’m thrilled to welcome a dear friend and someone who inspires me daily with her strength and compassion — Kylie Hempy!
